MAZ is hosting the 9th Annual Marketers Convention from the 1st – 4th of November 2016 at the Kingdom Hotel in Victoria Falls and is running under the theme, “The changing face of Marketing: Towards Organizational and Economic Transformation”. The Convention is a much anticipated convergence of marketing and business professionals from diverse sectors of the economy who gather together to brain-storm, exchange ideas and create networks.
Some of the topics that will be covered include national issues that affect policy as there is need for marketers to have a voice in national discourse. There is an experienced array of speakers hailing from local industry, South Africa and Zambia. One of the speakers is Professor Adre Schreuder who will be tackling the topic, Customer Experience Management and Measurement. He actively consults to large, medium and small businesses and serves as non-executive director in a number of other companies. He has published at numerous local and international conferences and publications. Adré has been acknowledged in the South African market research industry as the leading expert in customer satisfaction and customer experience research and measurement.
Another speaker who is among the panellists is the Chairman of the Zambian Institute of Marketing, Mr E. Muhanga, who will be tackling the topic, The Marketing and Public Policy Nexus: The role of Marketers in Influencing National Policy Discourse. From the local front there will be Winnie Muchanyuka, the National Director for South African Airways Zimbabwe. She will be speaking on the topic, Internal Marketing as a Strategic Business Tool: How to make employees live the brand promise.
As the year started the Association embarked on an integration strategy after realizing the need to incorporate all facets of marketing. As a result more topics to do with digital marketing , public relations, customer service and sales are being weaved into events, publications and training so as to appeal to the broad category of marketers. During the convention one of the speakers will be Sheree Shereni, Director International Division, Public Affairs and Communications, Coca Cola Beverages, who is going to be speaking on the topic, Content Marketing and Brand Story Telling: The New face of Corporate Reputation Building.
The panel of speakers also includes Norman Moyo, who is the CEO for Cummi. Moyo will be speaking on the topic, “The future of Marketing within the context of Digital analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Robots. Is the future of Marketing under threat”. Another speaker is Ruth Mubanga, a lecturer at Midlands State University who will be speaking on the topic, Emotional Intelligence: Key Success Factor for Emerging Leaders. Also from the local front, one of the speakers will be Memory Ndoro- Mandiya, who is a Memory Ndoro - Mandiya is a seasoned marketer with experience spanning over 20 years gained in the retail, tourism and mobile telecommunications industries. She will be speaking on the topic, The strategic role of Consumer Insights in business.
Included in the programme are 2 panel discussions focusing on the state of marketing in Zimbabwe and the road map towards establishing a legal statute. The other one will be focusing on the appreciation of special Economic Zones and the challenge for marketers to start generating foreign currency through exports, which is in partnership with Zimtrade.
One of the highlights of the conference include a trip to Chobe Resort in Botswana has also been organized.
